Manmatha at the main entrance
The image shows a frieze depicting Manmatha carved on the left side of the doorway on the main entrance to the Chennakeshava Temple. Manmatha, who is known by many names, including Kamadeva, is a son of Vishnu and the Hindu god of love.

As you can see from the image, Manmatha is holding a sugarcane bow with his left hand and the floral arrows with his right hand. The frieze depicting his wife Rathi is carved on the right side of the doorway.
